1. Why did you decide to study biology?

I’m a biology major on a pre-med track. I think biology is really interesting because science tends to explain the reasons behind our daily lives. For example, your body digests sugar without you ever thinking about it. I like to know the reason behind events and studying science provides me with a way to understanding life.

2. What drives you to study?

I hope to attend medical school to become a plastic surgeon. My ultimate dream is to work with trauma victims as a plastic surgeon. My family and friends are some of my biggest supporters and I’m truly thankful for all the support and encouragement they provide me with.

3. Is there anything in particular that you do cool off in-between or after your study sessions? Is there any place in particular that you enjoying studying at?

My roommate and I sometimes go to Hidden Grounds to study. Since I usually study with my roommate, our cool off sessions usually turn into us having a funny conversation or doing something silly. During our study breaks, we sometimes people watch (if we’re studying in a public place) or share fun facts about what we are studying. Once she gave me a brief history of coffee, while I taught her about monosaccharides and proteins.

4. What’s it like living on-campus at Rutgers?

I love it! I dorm on College Ave and it’s really convenient. Honestly, even Brower isn’t that bad (it could be worse). Living on campus has allowed me to create friendships and bonds with amazing, diverse individuals. I love my dorm; my floormates are some of the most unique and inspirational individuals that I have had the pleasure of meeting. Each one of them inspires me to become a better version of myself, whether it’s through their commitment to athletics, music, writing, or studying.

5. Do you have a particular place you enjoy eating at or ordering from?

There’s a tiny hole in the wall place on George St. called Indochine. It’s a traditional Vietnamese restaurant and I love ordering Pho (Vietnamese soup). In general, I love soup but Pho is one of my favorite dishes. It’s perfect for any weather and is bursting with filling flavors.

6. And if you could be any beverage, what would you be and why?

I think I would be a Iced Caramel Macchiato from Starbucks. It’s very refreshing and relaxing but offers the right amount of caffeine. I like to think that I’m generally a very relaxed person in terms of my attitude, but I also tend to be very energetic and hyper.
