This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Rutgers chapter.

It’s that time of year where college admissions are in full swing. There are plenty of high school seniors who are still unsure of where they want to spend the next four years of their lives. This is one of the biggest decisions that they have had to make so far. For our readers who may know someone struggling to figure out where they want to go, why not tell them to look at Rutgers. There are so many reasons to apply, but here is a list of the top three from a student perspective.

1. The Academics: It’s no secret that if you come to Rutgers, you are going to receive a great education. Rutgers ranks in the top 50 in over 40 different schools and departments including History, English, Physics, Computer Science just to name a few. There are over 100 different majors to for undergraduates to focus their studies. You name it, there is a good chance that Rutgers has it.

2. The Campus Life: Rutgers is a campus full of history and excitement. It’s a big campus, which means there are endless activities to participate in. With four different and diverse campuses, the opportunities to meet and make new friends are endless. The university itself is beautiful from the beautiful Passion Puddle on Douglass to the open fields on Busch. Students here can feel like they are in the country one minute, then take a bus ride and be immersed in the culture of downtown New Brunswick.

3. The Opportunities: Rutgers is known worldwide. There is a good chance that if you travel somewhere far away from New Jersey, you will meet somebody from Rutgers or somebody who knows someone who went there. That is one of the greatest things about this University. When applying for future jobs, having the Rutgers name on you résumé is already going to look amazing, but having a Rutgers connection is even stronger. Professors have explained to classes that they favor Rutgers students when looking for interns or assistants because of that Rutgers connection.

There are so many characteristics of this school that make it a great place to call home for four years. If you know someone looking for a great school with a lot to offer, Rutgers is a perfect choice. The deadline for regular admission is December 1st.
