HEY CUTIES!
This weeks campus cutie is a really amazing gal. In fact, she is the editor and president for Rowan’s Her Campus chapter! Meet Sammi Caramela!
Sammi is a junior Writing Arts major with a dual minor in Journalism and Psychology. She is happily enjoying her favorite season – autumn! She loves it because the weather gets cooler, and everything feels cozier.
If she were to stay inside on a cool fall night and watch a movie, it would probably be her favorite one; If I stay.
Or maybe, she’ll hang out with her friends and go for a long ride, grab something to eat, and walk through town.
Since Thanksgiving just passed, Sammi was probably ripe with nostalgia, since her favorite childhood memory is “decorating for Christmas every Friday after Thanksgiving!” Her whole family pitches in, eats left over Thanksgiving food, and watches Christmas movies all night. She considers any time spent with family a blessing.
A fun fact about Sammi is that she gets super excited about the little things, like baking (her sugar cookies are delicious), family parties, dinner dates, or reading a new book. These small moments can make her entire week, and she uses them as something to always look forward to.
Sammi loves that Rowan is a well-rounded school; “I think it’s important to focus on extracurricular activities and a social life just as much as an education.”
Her educational and career goals are to write for a psychology magazine and help those who struggle with mental illnesses. She has her own experience with that, having OCD and anxiety, so she knows what it’s like to “fear your own mind.” She wants to help others understand themselves better; “I don’t want people to hide their worries or flaws.” She also has other career goals to become an author and own a bookstore/bakery/coffee shop combo. I’ll be your number one customer, Sammi!
The last movie Sammi saw in theaters was Love the Coopers with her boyfriend (sorry boys, this cutie is happily taken!) and loved it – it was cute and hilarious.
Not only is Sammi well versed and let’s face it – Tumblr GOALS – she is also well traveled. “I’ve been to California and a few islands, like Jamaica, Turks and Caicos, and the Dominican Republic.”
Finally, I asked Sammi what are the first five things on her bucket list and she said:
1. Publish a book
2. Travel to Paris and Rome
3. Get married and have kids
4. Learn to play guitar (I write lyrics and sing)
5. Meet Stephan Jenkins—my absolute idol.
