Little Life Lessons… Just Be.

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Rowan chapter.

Hi, everyone!

So… How are you all? Kind of busy? Stressed?

Did you all enjoy Halloweekend?

Today… I am just sending in a small reminder to all of you.

Something that has been on my mind lately is how busy everyone is lately. Now, don’t get me wrong. My schedule is so tightly packed that it’s hard to try and even squeeze a quarter in between commitments. But, something I forget to do everyday, is to just… be.

Do you know what I’m saying? We are all so busy being students, being employees, being club members, being interns, being overwhelmed and just being stressed! When is the last time you just let yourself… Be?

Sometimes, we all need to take a step back from the chaotic mess our lives are as college students, and just remember to think of ourselves. Maybe you need to take a deep breath and take a walk around the neighborhood. Maybe you need to do some yoga, or go for a swim. Perhaps all you really need is a good, long nap. But, what we all need, is a break.

Have you ever lived life, just to live? Or have you always lived with a goal in mind, determined to achieve it and move on to the next without giving yourself a chance to breathe? Do you ever take a moment to look at the world around you, and take in all the beautiful sights and wonders it has to offer?

Maybe if we all stopped continuously trying to be everything the world needs us to be, and just tried being someone for ourselves, we would find it a lot easier to relax, and better ourselves.

So, maybe this week, the next time you are asked to be one of your many obligations, be sure to balance that commitment with some time for yourself to BE as well. After all, how can you be any of your other roles without being you?

I've never really been good at writing biographies, so here is a quick list of facts about me instead! My favorite Disney movie is The Little Mermaid I rode my bike into a pole when I was eight York Peppermint Patties are my favorite chocolate Walking in the rain is my favorite thing to do (when it's raining, of course) Snakes absolutely terrify the crap out of me. Have a happy day! P.S Live to love, love to live!
