Fashion Trends You’ll See in Spring

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Rowan chapter.

Thanks to pandemic-related shutdowns a lot of people didn’t get to experience spring last year. Personally, I was offended that I wasn’t able to pull out my spring wardrobe and wear outfits that I was dying to debut. But, thanks to a better understanding of the coronavirus this spring is a new opportunity to show off trendy outfits (safely of course). Inspired by a few trends on fashion week’s runway I’ve compiled a few trends that will definitely appear this spring.

Feathers

I know. I’m shocked too. But, feathers were the unspoken hero during fashion week and were featured in skirts, tops, and soon in stores across the world.

Puffed and other fun sleeves

This trend is so fun! This spring you’ll be sure to see sleeves that are puffed to perfection, sheer sleeves, hanging sleeves, or the suggestive cold shoulder.

Cottage core inspired dresses

Thanks to Tic Tok cottage core is in. Think “Little House on the Prarie” while shopping and you’ll be fine.

Anything floral

Maranda Presley once said, “Florals…in spring. Shocking.”. I guess if it’s not broke don’t fix it.

Mini skirts or anything that shows leg

We’re out of lockdown and we’re ready to show a little bit of leg. The mini skirt’s infamous return has finally come.

Wide leg pants

Personally, I’m excited about this trend to finally hit. I’m getting tired of skinny jeans.

Whale tale and g strings

Thanks to Y2K fashion and other 90’s inspired trends we’ll be seeing a lot more whale tales and cheeky fashion in the near future.
