Good Eats?

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Rochester chapter.

Danforth Dining Hall is a well-known staple at the U of R for a number of reasons, whether it be for Sunday brunch, team dinners, ice cream or running into your hook up from the night before, but certainly not for its décor.  When I heard that D-Fo, as we all so lovingly call it, was getting a “facelift” I knew it was going to be one of my first stops upon returning to campus this fall.  While D-fo certainly looks great, very modern and bright, I was more than overwhelmed by the new layout and a bit confused at where I could find me favorite foods, like the omelet station.

Problem #1: the ice cream machine was out of order and there was no hard ice cream in sight.

Problem #2: the lines for every station were extremely long.

Problem #3: the lack of seating.

Problem #4: the use of plastic plates, cups, and silverware is not so eco-friendly.

Problem #5: the stack of plates by the dishwasher, which caused me to accidently drop some cups into the garbage.

Suffice it to say, the “new and improved” Danforth is a downgrade in my book.
