I ran into Aimi Ghani outside of Starbucks in Wilson Commons. I loved her tailored jacket and metallic flats. What makes this this fashionable, international girl tick when it comes to clothes?

NG:What inspires you when you get ready in the morning?
AG: I read a lot of fashion magazines in my free time like Vogue and InStyle, so that’s definitely one source of inspiration. My mother and older sisters are also really into fashion, so growing up I have always looked up to them and tried to mimic their style. As I grew up I started to incorporate my own fashion sense. But at the end of the day I always fall back to the classics; neutral tones, little black dresses and classic jewelry. You can never go wrong!

NG:Where is your favorite place to shop?
AG: For day to day clothes I love Zara, TopShop and H&M. You can can also find really great deals there! For bags I love Balenciaga and Miu Miu. When I shop online I go to sites like Shopplanetblue.com and neimanmarcus.com, and for jewelry I love Soixante Neuf. If I really want to splurge I absolutely love dresses by Zuhair Murad and Jenny Packham. At home in Malaysia there is a whole area called Bangsar filled with strips of boutiques that have the cutest clothes!

NG: So, just for fun. What’s playing on your iPod right now?
AG:On the Floor by JLo featuring Pitbull. It’s so great for the gym.

NG: If you could choose, what would you say is your favorite piece of clothing?
AG:I have so many! But, if I absolutely had to choose it would probably be my black Balenciaga bag with gold studs. I also cannot go anywhere without accessories: rings, earrings and bracelets. Oh, especially my watch! I can’t live without it!

Kaitlin Carragher is a junior at the University of Rochester majoring in Economics and minoring in Legal Studies.  While she has no previous experience with journalism, she is very excited to be a part of the Her Campus team.  Speaking of journalism, she put off writing this bio for four months, but hey who's counting?  Since her major's not quite her favorite thing, Kaitlin has spent most of her undergraduate career getting involved on campus.  She is currently President of the Epsilon Rho Chapter of Kappa Delta Sorority, an active member of student government, a Student-Alumni Ambassador, Relay for Life coordinator, and a few other other things--guess you can never have too many activities.  Originally from the suburbs of Boston, Kaitlin will be spending this summer in Dublin, Ireland, where she's hoping to finally be among people that are just as pale and freckled as she is.  Along with being pale, her other main weaknesses include a fear of the ocean, hatred of potato chips, and the inability to correctly pronounce "hot dog."  Kaitlin's current obsessions include Groupon, greek yogurt, and 90s pop music.  After college Kaitlin hopes to go into marketing, but she is currently searching for ways to extend the length of senior year to forever.
