March Madness is here. Fashion madness, that is.
Now that the days are longer and the temperature is warming up, the outfits on campus are getting way more fun! Though we can’t get carried away and run around the quad in tiny sundresses yet (sorry boys), there are still plenty of ways to marry flirty spring pieces with warmer staples like tights, cardigans and boots. Devin has created a perfect early-spring outfit for Rochester, showing just enough skin to be adorable and weather appropriate at the same time!
Devin Denny
Class of 2011
Cheektowaga, NY
European History and Religion Major
Dress: Silence and Noise (Urban Outfitters)
Belt: A gift from one of my former dance students
Necklace: Concert souvenir from forever ago
Tights: Gap
Boots: G.H. Bass & Co.
NG: What inspires your style?
DD: GQ! I have an obsession with men’s fashion: ties, cuffs, links, and desert boots. I love playing with tailored, masculine pieces and making them feminine. I’m also inspired by Audrey Hepburn. I love her classic, simple, tailored style. I’ve been trying to re-create her “Funny Face” black outfit for years. I already have the dance moves down!
NG: What is your favorite place to shop?
DD: The holy preppy trinity: J Crew, Banana Republic and the Gap.
NG: What are your plans for the future?
DD: I’ve been recently accepted into grad school! I will probably be going to Harvard to get my MTS in Politics, Religion and Ethics. I’m hoping to get involved in the non-profit sector and globally increase educational opportunities for girls by positively incorporating their religion, culture and background.
NG: What is playing on your iPod these days?
DD: Francis and the Lights, Major Lazer and Zee Avi.
NG: What is your favorite fashion season?
DD: Sweaters, scarves, wool coats, boots and dark colors make fall my favorite season.
NG: Spoken like a true Rochester student! So, tell me about your absolute favorite piece of clothing? Where did you get it?
DD: It is definitely a tie between a dark brown, suede BCBG jacket and my gray, wool Banana Republic blazer. Somehow both of my jackets tie a million different outfits together.
