True Bobcat and Sports Fan: Hannah Alegbeleye

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Quinnipiac chapter.

I heard you’re very famous on twitter, what do you like to tweet about?
I’m flattered but I am NOT famous on twitter at all. Personally, the way I use my account is I share my passion for sports, music, and life experiences, both good and bad, to certain extent. For example, if one of my favorite musical artist puts out a song I really like, I tweet lyrics from that song. If I get an A on exam, I’ll tweet about that. If I stumbled in front of my crush, therefore creating an awkward moment, I’ll tweet that too. I just like keeping it real because I feel people can relate and appreciate that. Also I’m just a random and sarcastic person in general, so I think that give my tweets life.

I heard your very involved in sports at school, how are you involved and what do you do?
As for being involved in sports, I don’t play competitively. I work for the Quinnipiac Sports Info Department on campus and it’s been great! I assist with controlling the scoreboard, watching and recording statistics, and then delivering statistics to home and opposing teams. Working for Q.U.S.I.D. has taught me that sports (on any level) is about more than just the players, coaches, and managers… it’s also about the people behind the scenes, so to say.

Have you held any internships?
I haven’t done an internship yet. I have applied for some for this summer, so fingers crossed! As far as experience, since I am Broadcast Journalism major, I write for the Quinnipiac Chronicle in the Arts & Life section. It has not only been a creative outlet for me but it  has also has definitely helped me improve my writing skills tremendously.

What’s your favorite QU experience?
I don’t particularly have one favorite Quinnipiac moment/experience. I laughed, I’ve cried, and I’ve done everything else in-between but overall I’ve really enjoyed my time here over the past few years, and looking forward to many more great moments before I graduate.

Any advice to our collegiates?
My advice to our collegiates would be to never fear rejection. I think rejection holds people back in general for accomplishing so many great things and stumbling upon new, amazing possibilities. Once you get past the fear of rejection, the sky’s the limit and don’t let anyone else tell you otherwise.
