Pinterest Find of the Week: St. Patty’s Day

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Quinnipiac chapter.

March 17th is inching closer, and falls on the Sunday we return from Spring Break. The ten day break had us dieting for months to look good in that bikini we wanted to sport, and after all that hard work, we deserve to indulge a little. That’s why this week’s Pinterest find benefits our belly.

St. Patty’s is all about green, and these sugar cookies with perfect green royal icing are calling our names! Not only do they look and taste great, but you can get really creative with what you put on them, and put your own personal touch. Brown Eyed Baker has some of my favorite recipes, and they’re super easy to make.

McDonalds also created their own signature St. Patrick’s Day collection, including their Shamrock Shake, which everyone is raving over. What better way to get into the St. Patty’s spirit than adding some liquor to the sugary drink, and toasting to another night! Don’t drink too much though, cause you might just “Kiss Me, I’m Irish” a few more guys than you intended to!

Adult Shamrock Shake
(Makes 1 to 2 servings)

4 scoops vanilla ice cream

3 tablespoons Irish cream liqueur

2 tablespoons milk

½ teaspoon mint extract

Chocolate syrup for garnish

Green sprinkles for garnish

In a blender, combine the ice cream, Irish cream liqueur, milk and mint extract. Blend until smooth. Pour into 1 or 2 glasses and garnish with green sprinkles and a drizzle of chocolate syrup.
