One of our campus celebrities, Victoria Johnson, recently gave me her best tips when it comes to makeup. With semi season upon us, Victoria kindly shared her tips with us collegiettes! Read up, ladies:
Tips and Product Recommendations:
1. Using a primer before you put on any foundation will help it to prolong the wear of your face makeup. I recommend the NYX Angel Veil Skin Perfecting Primer because it keeps oil at bay!
2. Using a foundation that does not contain SPF will ensure that your skin looks flawless in photos. SPF tends to make the skin on your face lighter with flash photography. I recommend the Maybelline Fit Me foundation because it is SPF free and comes in two formulas, one for dry skin and the other for oily skin.
3. Concealing any dark under eye circles will make you look fresh and awake all night! Try LA Girl’s Pro Concealer to hide any puffiness or darkness.
4. If you want to look glow and gorgeous in your semi photos, use a powder highlighter on the tops of your cheekbones. One of my favorites is Becca’s Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Opal.
5. Once all of your makeup is applied, make sure you set it so it does not move! I love ELF’s Makeup Mist & Set. A few sprays on your face and your makeup looks airbrushed and will not move!
6. Wearing a liquid lipstick to semi ensures that you will not have to reapply at all. I am in love with Sephora’s Cream Liquid Lipstick in the color Always Red. They are comfortable on the lips and have a variety of different colors.
7. Applying an eyeshadow base to your eyelids before you apply any eyeshadow is very important. Otherwise, your eyeshadow will crease and fade. Too Faced’s Shadow Insurance will help shadows to go on vibrantly and prevents them from creasing throughout the night.
8. Wearing false lashes takes an eye look from basic to fancy real quick! Recently, I’ve been wearing the Ardell Demi Wispies whenever I want my eye makeup to stand out a little bit more.
9. Perfume is always a must when going to a special event like formal! I love Viktor and Rolf’s Flower Bomb. It’s sweet and sexy but not too strong. Britney Spears’s Fantasy is also a great scent.
10. Lastly, having groomed brows will frame your whole face (#browsonfleek). I use NYX’s Tinted Brow Pomade whenever I want to tame my brows.
