Questions Everyone Who Isn’t Into Makeup Asks Themselves

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Purdue chapter.

Sephora, MAC, Ulta. Brands that excite most women, but strike fear into those of us who have not mastered the art of painting on one’s face. If you’re like me, you have a standard makeup routine that you stick to, or you just don’t wear makeup at all. You do not watch YouTube videos, obsessively trying to master the perfect cat eye liner. You have maybe three makeup brushes as opposed to the billions that line your best friend’s bathroom sink. Here are some things that those of us who aren’t obsessed with makeup think.

What is highlighter? How does it magically make your face perfect? Because I have no clue what I’m doing

Why do you need so many makeup brushes? Just why?

How do you get your eyeliner to match on both eyes? Do you use a ruler?

What is the secret to lipstick? How do you know which shade is right? What is the point of lip liner?

Why are there so many different kinds of mascara? How do you keep it from getting all over your eyelid throughout the day?

And you always end up feeling like you look like this after finishing your make up.
