From Finals to Bliss…Ways to Rid Stress After Finals!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Purdue chapter.

Well, I can officially say it…Christmas Break is here and one more semester until I graduate! It’s kind of hard to believe; my life here at Purdue has been full of hard work and fun times. It’s safe to say if you are a student you
know how finals can be, and it’s amazing to think we even survive that last final when we are just ready to be home. Now that it’s over, however, I just want to RELAX! So here are some of my personal favorite ways to de-stress that I think you will enjoy too!

(First & foremost, go make a cup of hot chocolate or your favorite hot drink, put on your pajamas and watch your favorite Christmas movie. ‘Elf’ anyone?)

1. Take a hot bath and light some candles
Unfortunately, pampering yourself can be expensive when you think of massages and pedicures, but this is relatively cheap. Go buy your favorite relaxing bubble bath and light your favorite candle. I love Bath & Body Work’s ‘Bubble Bath in Twilight Woods’ for about $12. It smells amazing and isn’t too fruity so you can actually relax.

2. Buy a mud mask for your face

There is nothing wrong with exfoliating your skin and treating it the way it should be treated. There are so many great (and cheap) options! It’s great for a fun girls’ night before painting your nails and getting all pretty! One of my favorites is for a pore-cleansing sensation. It’s by Queen Heleen and called ‘Mint Julep Masque’ for around $6.

3. Give yourself a manicure and pedicure
Don’t have time to make an appointment during the busy holiday season? It’s easy to keep your pretty fingers and toes sparkling and trimmed! You can buy kits anywhere that carry the essential clippers, cuticle trimmers, files, and buffers. Give yourself a nice massage after a shower with your favorite lotion and that way your skin is soft for trimming your cuticles.
After clipping your nails, a buffer is a great way to rid any ridges. Make sure to smooth out the ridges and get your nails ready with a coat of color for your base coat. Put on two coats of your favorite color, and add a top coat and you are all done. I am loving this beautiful red shimmer by China Glaze!

I hope you’ve enjoyed my tips and wish you all have a wonderful break and happy holidays!

HCXO!
