Ways to KeepYourself Busy During Quarantine

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at PSU chapter.

As we all know, the growing issue of the Coronavirus has required us to stay put. The best thing to do right now is to stay home and stay healthy. Like many others, I am a college student home for the semester, and after being home for over a month, I have found myself bored out of my mind. Here is a quick list of ways to keep yourself entertained while staying home and staying healthy!

At-home Meditation and Yoga

There is no better way to start the morning than with some sunrise yoga. Roll out your yoga mat (a blanket will do) and do a quick round of stretches. Starting each morning with 5-10 minutes of yoga and silent meditation. It will help clear your mind and give you a great morning boost!

Arts and Crafts

From one craft lover to another, this is the perfect opportunity to make some killer DIYs. Jump on Amazon and order yourself some paint, a canvas, and a glue gun, and you are ready to go. Once you have your supplies, get some Pinterest inspo, and have a fun couple of hours. There is no better stress reliever than painting out your feelings.

Catch Up On Your Favorite Netflix Shows

Never again are you going to have this much time to yourself with your TV. Get those shows off your watch list and spend the day binging. If you do want to watch with others but are self-isolating, Netflix released a program called Netflix Party. It allows you to sign on with your friends and watch the same program simultaneously and has an area for messaging to keep up the commentary.

Change Up Your Bedroom

After you paint some cute new decor, throw it back to middle school when you would rearrange your room and feel like a whole new person. Try switching up your furniture placement or put up some new decor. While you have time on your hands, go through your clothes and pick the ones out you don’t wear or don’t fit and donate them to charity. A clean room equals a clear mind.

Read a New Book

I personally don’t normally have time to crack open a new book but now that I am primarily sitting in my bed, I found myself reaching for my nearest novels. Go through some old books in your house you have had on your reading list, grab a cup of tea, and hunker down with a good book. You could even start a mini virtual book club with some friends!
