Whether it be doing homework in the Arboretum, getting ice cream at the Creamery or just lounging on the HUB lawn, having a killer playlist can make any day a good one.

When it comes to making playlists, I love to pick songs that really encapsulate a feeling or moment in my life. Because of this, I have a playlist for the most obscure situations.

Whether it be going on a run with my dog at 7 a.m. or getting ready for a matinee musical performance, I have a playlist for it. Here are some of my suggestions if you need any springtime inspiration:

“Unlock it” by Charli XCX

Charli XCX music is a perfect example of pop with a touch of Y2K nostalgia. When I was constructing my perfect springtime playlist, I knew this song had to be at the top of my list. The fast paced beat of “Unlock It” is perfect for getting your cardio in at the gym and will have you feeling like an it girl.

“As It Was” by Harry Styles

“As It Was” by Harry Styles was the song that I never knew I needed. The song premiered at 7 p.m. on March 31 and was on my spring playlist by 7:03 p.m.

This is definitely going to be a song to remember for 2022. It is perfect for rolling down the windows and driving through the backroads with your best friends.

“Sweetest Pie” by Megan the Stallion & Dua Lipa

Megan the Stallion never misses and that is clear in her new single with Dua Lipa. Being the first song that I added to my spring playlist, “Sweetest Pie” is perfect for whenever you need a little pick me upβ€” this song makes me feel like the prettiest girl on campus, even when I am walking to the HUB in sweatpants, no makeup and rocking a messy bun.

“Just a Cloud Away” by Pharrell Williams

One of my favorite places to look for new music is TikTokβ€” which is how I found “Just a Cloud Away” by Pharrell Williams. Since this song started trending, I have not been able to get it out of my “for you page” or my head.

This song is perfect for a more chill playlist and it is a strong choice to be at the top of the queue for summer picnics and beach trips.

Though these songs are my personal favorites at the moment, I am so excited to see what is in store for music trends this summer. Making obscure playlist is a guilty pleasure for me and with the changing of seasons, it is the perfect time to revamp your musical closet.

Whether that be Megan the Stallion or Morgan Wallen, listen to what is going to make you feel like a rockstar this spring. Even the crazy Penn State weather can not break my stride when I have my bright and sunny tunes.
