Pinterest: Initial Koozie

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at PSU chapter.

I’m from the South and three things every Southern girl loves are monograms, big bows and koozies. I was so excited when I came across this pin and knew I had to recreate it for my friends and I. The original idea had the initial embroidered and I don’t have the tools to do that so I improvised and ended up liking mine even more than the original.

What you will need:

– Soft koozie

**The hardest part of this craft was finding the koozie. I ended up finding mine in the sporting goods section of Wal-mart. The colors were kind of ugly, but the inside was black so I just turned it inside out.**

– Ribbon

– Hot glue gun and glue

– Acrylic paint in a color that will show up (I used light pink)

– Paintbrush

– Initial stencil

Step 1:

Take the initial stencil and press it flat. Carefully, paint over the stencil using the paintbrush. Once you move the stencil that will be the letter you have, so be careful! Remove the stencil and let it dry.

(I know in the picture I reversed steps one and two but I recommend doing the paint first for best results)

Step 2:

Heat up the hot glue gun and take the ribbon and tie it in a big bow. Play around with it until it looks pretty and then cut it.

Step 3:

After the paint is dry, glue the bow to the top, middle of the koozie. Press down on it and make sure it is positioned how you want it.

That’s all you have to do! Have fun using your koozie!
