What do you like best about being a first-generation American? What don’t you like?
Being a first-generation American definitely has its advantages: I’m both American and foreign, I have that whole cool international aura and I speak two languages fluently, which is awesome. One of the funnier aspects is that everyone automatically thinks you’re good at soccer. But, like every good thing, being first-generation also has its downfalls. Sometimes, in America, you are considered “the foreigner,” and in the country of your birth (in my case, Iran), you are “The American.”
What one person would you choose right now to live with for the rest of your life?
I am in love with Giada de Laurentiis from the Food Network. If you haven’t seen her, you are seriously missing out. She is beautiful and makes some amazing Italian food. What more could you want? But, looking at more practical options, I would have to say my brother, because we have the same habits.
What would a girl have to do to win you over?
“Win me over?” What am I, a football game? (Of course, by “football” I mean “soccer.”)
What is the most annoying thing you see people doing on campus?
Going around campus looking for things that annoy them.
eHarmony or speed dating?
Both are equally creepy, but I think eHarmony takes the cake in how unfruitful it can be. It’s like getting into a bad argument—you’re unable to truly see the other side and it’s unlikely to produce good results.
