Movies and TV Shows With The Perfect Spring Vibe

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at PSU chapter.

I am a seasonal person. As we transition from winter to spring, I’m swapping out my winter pine candles for more floral and fruity scents, my thick gray blankets for light pink and sage green throws and adding more color back into my wardrobe and decor.

I also love to find movies and TV shows that fit the vibe of the weather and the time of year. Something about watching something wintry like “Harry Potter” or “The Holiday” just doesn’t sit right with me when spring comes around.

So, I’ve compiled a list of movies and TV shows that give a perfect spring vibe to me. Some I can explain, some I can’t, but you’ll get the vibe. When you watch these, make sure to light a fresh-smelling candle, open the window and let in that warm, breezy spring air while you listen to the birds chirp.

“Bridgerton”

The flowers, the color scheme, the love, the drama — all of this just screams spring to me.

“new girl”

It’s something about how lighthearted and funny “New Girl” is that just reminds me of spring. Jessica Day absolutely seems like if she was a season, she’d be spring. I offer no further explanation.

“queer eye”

Have you ever heard of spring cleaning? This show is like that, but with entire lives. Clean out the wardrobe, redo the house, fix the hair, learn to cook, address your past trauma — Tan, Bobby, Jonathan, Antoni and Karamo are basically spring cleaning a whole human being. It’s amazing.

“10 things i hate about you”

“10 Things I Hate About You” is the PERFECT spring movie. It’s the end of the school year, people are falling in love, the whole school is gearing up for prom and the impending summer, the main characters are going on adorable outdoor dates (paintball is an excellent date inspo for this spring) — what more can you ask for?

“mean girls”

I mean, the resolution of the movie is the Spring Fling dance. What gives springtime more than that?

“Love, simon”

I don’t know why, but this one fits the list. Hopefully you get it.

“how to lose a guy in 10 days”

Andie and Ben’s trip to visit Ben’s parents, and that iconic gold dress just seem perfect for spring.

“To all the boys I’ve loved before”

All three of these movies give spring vibes because the outfits and scenery look like a Pinterest board, but specifically the last one really does it for me. Something about Lara Jean getting ready for prom and graduation really puts me in the spring headspace.

“13 Going on 30”

The pink house, the wardrobe, and the photoshoot scene. That’s all I need to say.

“isn’t it romantic”

Because this movie is a parody of so many rom coms, they make a deliberate point to have all the characters in lots of pastels and bright colors to create a world filled with beautiful scenery. There’s also an unrealistic amount of flowers everywhere the characters go. This scenery, plus the fun soundtrack, make this movie perfect for spring.

“she’s all that”

Another classic high school rom com building up to prom, a spring staple.

“the good place”

I don’t really have an explanation for this one. It just seems like a spring show.

“modern family”

It’s the light, funny, happy vibes.

“friends”

This can depend on the episode, but I feel like, for the most part, this show and the friendship between the characters really has that light spring energy.

“27 dresses”

Look, spring is for rom coms. I don’t make the rules.

Enjoy your spring weekend bingeing!
