Fun Valentine’s Day Activities That Don’t Require A Relationship

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and for a lot of us single souls, it isn’t something special to mark on the calendar. We tend to go about our usual daily routines and leave the planning and celebrations to the lovebirds. For many of us, a day dedicated to love can be a reminder that we don’t have a special someone to share it with.

But not to worry, you don’t need a relationship to have a good time on this holiday! There are plenty of activities to do by yourself and still have fun.

Have a Movie Night

On Valentine’s Day, you’re guaranteed find a good selection of romance movies premiering on Netflix. This is the perfect opportunity to spend some time alone, binge-watching on your favorite movies with the best company that you can possibly have - yourself! Take the day to treat yourself, crack open a bottle of fresh wine and take advantage of the discounted chocolate on sale.

Go Out

This year you’re in luck because Valentine’s Day falls on a Thursday which we all know is the true beginning of the weekend. You don’t need a date as an excuse to dress up, so use this opportunity to take out that dress you’ve been keeping tucked away in the back of your closet, and hit up the local hot spots at your college. After all, you never know who you’ll run into, and you might not end up on Valentine’s Day alone after all.

Take Yourself out to Dinner

Finding a restaurant on Valentine’s Day can be a stressful event, but it might not be half the hassle if you only need a table for one. Despite popular belief, eating alone is actually pretty great. You’re a lot less self conscious about wiping crumbs from around your mouth every few seconds, and worrying about the the ever- brewing question of who’s paying for what. So, look out for the Valentine’s Day specials this year, and enjoy a little alone time with a delicious meal.

Do a Galentine’s Gift Exchange

Gift exchanges are a common holiday activity, and many people don’t realize that Valentine’s Day counts just as much as the others. This can be a fun tradition for your single friends to take part in, as well as those in relationships. Exchanging gifts is a thoughtful way to express your love the people that you care about and honestly, that’s really what the holiday is truly about.
