Name: Drew Nicholas
Year: Sophomore
Major: Architectural Engineering
Hometown: Bangor, Pa.

Meet Drew, an aspiring engineer, fitness guru and true outdoorsman. When Drew isn’t hitting the gym or playing Ultimate Frisbee on Old Main lawn, he can been seen and heard on the sidelines at Beaver Stadium cheering on the Nittany Lions! This is his first year on the Penn State cheerleading team and he couldn’t be happier. Look out for Drew on campus, ladies.

HC: What are you passionate about?

Drew: I’m passionate about many things, but if I had to narrow it down to just a few I’d have to choose my family. Regardless of what happens in life your family will always be there for you. I try calling my parents everyday.

HC: What’s your ideal date?

Drew: Oh you know, my ideal date would consist of … typical candlelit dinner, a movie and a night under the stars. I’m a real romantic.

HC: Favorite things about PSU?

Drew: No doubt, the atmosphere! No matter what is happening, whether it’s a Monday or a Saturday night, there’s always something you can count on to keep you entertained. The feel of an actual “college town” such as State College has been a crucial part of my love for PSU.

HC: Where do you see yourself in ten years?

Drew: I hope to be working for a successful Architectural Engineering firm in the D.C./Maryland area, and one day eventually own my own firm there.

Born and raised by two Nittany Lions, Rachel continued the tradition by attending Penn State University in the fall of 2009. Currently a senior journalism major, Rachel also spends her time minoring in both psychology and Spanish. During her sophomore year she wrote for the Greek newspaper at Penn State as a member of Alpha Xi Delta, followed by joining the Her Campus team as a writer and the Public Relations/Social Media Manager in the fall of her junior year. In search of mastering the Spanish language, Rachel indulged herself in the country of Spain for five months while she studied abroad in the city of Alicante during the spring of 2012. In order to keep her English up to par, Rachel blogged about her experiences for both her personal account and Her Campus at Penn State.
