Cutest Dog Bracket

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at PSU chapter.

March Madness is a big month for guys who love basketball and I thought well, let’s make a bracket in May for the cutest dogs!

I picked 64 dogs that I thought were the cutest (it was very hard to choose) and here they are:

  28. Welsh Corgi

  42. Bichons Frises
  43. Shiba Inu
  44. Samoyed
  45. Bull Terrier
  46. Pitbull
  47. Dalmatian
  48. Greyhound
  49. Russell Terrier
  50. Scottish Terrier
  51. Newfoundland
  52. Portuguese Water Dog
  53. Swedish Vallhund
  54. English Springer Spaniel
  55. Collie
  56. Bloodhound
  57. Dogues de Bordeaux
  58. Shetland Sheepdog
  59. White Terrier
  60. Papillon
  61. Border Collie
  62. Mastiff
  63. Siberian Husky
  64. Old English Sheepdog

Obviously there is only one winner…and I will reveal that shortly.  There are some honorable mentions though that I think should have made i farther than they did.

The Cocker Spaniel, I feel is one of the cutest dogs.  I might be biased because I own one but the Cocker Spaniel only made it to the top 32, losing to the St. Bernard!  St. Bernard’s are cute too but I sure love small dogs!

Another dog I think should have made it further is the Pug…who lost to the Corgi right at the beginning.  I do think Corgi’s are cuter though so maybe it was just unlucky that the Pug went against one of the cutest dogs in the first round.

One dog that I was surprised that made it as far as it did was the Samoyed, who made it to the top 8!  Not many people know the Samoyed but they certainly are cute. They are definitely underrated.

In the end, the top 4 ended up being the Golden Retriever, the Welsh Pembroke Corgi, the Bernese Mountain Dog (a favorite of mine) and the Siberian Husky.  The Golden Retriever ended up beating the Siberian Husky to officially be called the winner of the Cutest Dog bracket!

Are we surprised? I don’t think so…Golden Retrievers are so cute and such friendly and happy dogs.  I couldn’t see any other dog beating the Retriever.
