What’s your favorite part about working with special needs adults?
I like taking them out in the community and making them feel like everyone else. I work with many talented, bright and hilarious people with big hearts who deserve all the respect people can give them.

What’s your most annoying habit?
I laugh too often, loudly and obnoxiously. (Writer’s note: Don’t believe this–Cheslea has a cute and contagious laugh that sucks us all in!)

Your apartment is on fire. What 3 things do you save?
My kitty Samoa (named so because she is the same colors as the Girl Scout cookie), the art made by both my sister and grandfather and my laptop (I take it everywhere and would be lost without it).

What’s your advice to girls looking to give back to their community?
Support the LGBT community in any way possible. It’s a community of people who contribute everyday, though we’re not always aware of their work or sexuality. For a community with many people looking to give, it’s only fair to give back. Give respect and appreciation to the people who give it to us.

What’s the best thing about your girlfriends?
My girlfriends are always there to hold me when I’m crying and dress me up to take me out. I couldn’t ask for any more than that!

Jen Kach is the most enthusiastic English major you'll ever meet at Penn State. Not a drop of British blood runs in her veins, but with her passion for literature and creative writing, she may as well have been born in the country of Shakespeare and Charles Dickens! Once she graduates from Happy Valley, she hopes to take the publishing world by storm, working either in book publishing or the magazine industry. At the top of her list, though, are novels...her ultimate dream is to write several of them! At Penn State, she is the managing editor for Valley magazine, a writing center tutor, and a member of Ed2010. An ardent believer in La Vie Boheme, she is in love with love, art, coffee shops, music, and classic films. She loves the little things in life, will never forget seeing the Goo Goo Dolls live in concert, and firmly believes that, when all else is said and done, there is no problem that Jane Austen can't fix.
