As you all know, Halloween is rapidly approaching. It’s one of my favorite times of year and I love seeing all of the costume fads each year. People’s creativity truly comes out and I love it!
These specific costumes were my favorites from last year. Feel free to use these as inspiration for this year!
Austin Powers/ Fembot
I was shocked to see so many people recreating this iconic look considering the movie came out over twenty years ago, but better late than ever I guess. Not only is it a fashionable and cute costume, but it’s clever.
This is the perfect costume to do as a couple, with your friend group, or just solo. The possibilities are endless.
Not to mention, the movie is super quotable and has a cult following, so fans were obsessed with this look. Very shagadelic.
Devil
While this can be deemed as a basic costume, I think if you do it right, a devil could be really cute. I saw many variations of the costume and people truly made it their own.
From red jumpsuits to dresses to skirts, people really did it all and killed it. 2022 proved that even the most common costumes can have a modern or unique spin on them, and I’m excited to see that trend continue.
UPS Driver
I might be biased because I wore this costume, but it was so fun to do and is probably my favorite Halloween costume I have ever done.
I literally walked around all night with a package and would ask people to sign for their package. What is more funny than that? I also saw other girls rocking this look and it was quite popular.
So if you’re struggling for ideas, this one is a tried and true choice.
Black Swan Duo
I am shocked that this costume rose to popularity this year, but I am not complaining. Black Swan is one of my favorite movies and I saw many girls kill this costume.
So many rocked the makeup and leotards and it was hands down my favorite Halloween costume of 2022. I am now inspired to do this costume this year.
Jennifer’s Body
I knew this look would be popular this year because it was a suggested costume in every “Halloween Costumes Ideas” video and I was so happy to see so many people rocking it.
I saw so many variations of the costume because Jennifer has so many iconic looks. Such a hot and fun costume that is good on a budget, and a great way to show off that 2000s fashion.
Step Brothers
Step Brothers is a superior comedy movie with plenty of memorable scenes, so of course this costume was one of my favorites.
I saw many people acting out the scenes from the movie over TikTok and I thought it was hilarious. And even better, I also got to witness people act out the scenes in person at parties. Such an entertaining costume.
Napoleon Dynamite
This is another funny costume from yet another iconic movie. I saw this done in a group and many people recognized it instantly.
Similar to the Step Brothers and Austin Powers costumes, they are timeless and crowd pleasers so many people enjoy it.
Halloweekend costumes don’t have to be difficult. Finding inspiration from previous years is one of the best ways to come up with fun ideas. Have a fun (and safe) Halloweekend 2023!
