Whether you’re a fan of the latest makeup trend or not, there’s no denying that dark lipsticks have made their way from our mothers’ purses back into the hands of collegiettes. Though some are weary of the bold statement a dark shade can make, we promise there is a color that can work for you – you just have to find it. Check out this list of the five shades you should try this winter, arranged from the cheapest buy to the biggest splurge:

1. Seduce Scarlet Colorlicious Lipstick by Covergirl – $6.99

Seduce Scarlet is a dark, rich red is infused with shea butter that will keep your lips smooth and soft during the cold, winter months.

2. Rich Girl Red Super Lustrous Lipstick by Revlon – $7

Rich Girl Red is the staple bright red shade you need in your lipstick lineup. Pair it with an all-black outfit for the ultimate statement shade.

3. Touch of Spice Color Sensational Creamy Matte by Maybelline – $7.49

Touch of Spice is a less intense matte color that will enhance your lips while not making them the center of attention. Matte is not shiny like other lipsticks and will give your outfits a new and different look.

4. Rebel by MAC – $16

Rebel is a satin lipstick, and it’s one of the shades that has made it onto MAC’s Bestsellers list. It’s a deep raspberry shade with a plum undertone that’s a perfect mix between not too dark and not too bright.

5. Ingrid Audacious Lipstick by NARS – $32

Ingrid is a dramatic, deep purple shade. This lipstick has great texture and pigmentation so that it’ll last the entire night out.
