5 Creative Last-Minute DIY Halloween Costumes

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at PSU chapter.

Spooktober got your wallet and your patience running thin? Don’t fret. Here are five creatively cool Halloween costumes for the busy girls out there who still love Halloween:

1. Dwight Schrute from “The Office”

Throw on a mustard button-up shirt, khakis, glasses, and a funky tie to achieve a look that will have Office fans turning heads and warning you that identity theft is, in fact, no joke.

2. Galaxy alien

If you’re feeling particularly out of this world and you seem to be spacing lately, thank your lucky stars for this costume idea! Cringe-worthy puns aside, there are so many ways you can make this costume unique. Try adding some glitter to your hair and makeup with space buns to top it off, and wear something shiny or green!

3. Skeleton

This one is for the talented makeup lovers out there. To achieve a spooky skeleton look, try keeping your outfit simple by wearing a black skirt or jeans with a black top and remember to apply some intense makeup!

4. Dead cheerleader

Channel your inner Megan Fox in “Jennifer’s Body” by dressing up as a possessed cheerleader. Add some fake blood and rips to a crop top/skirt combo with light makeup around the face and dark circles around the eyes. To achieve more of a “dead” effect, emulate the almost-dead look that you wake up with at 8:00 a.m. on a Monday. It should be spot on.

5. The Bachelorette

Grab a group of your girl friends and vie for the final rose in this creatively contemporary Halloween costume. Try wearing black cocktail dresses and carrying around a red rose because you like totally deserved the rose tonight.
