2023 Internet’s Favorite Boy of the Month Wrap-Up

The opinions expressed in this article are the writer’s own and do not reflect the views of Her Campus.
This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at PSU chapter.

There are two things I know to be true.

First, everyone loves a good end-of-the-year wrap-up. It helps you start the New Year feeling fresh and revitalized, and gives you the opportunity to look back and see how much you’ve grown.

Second, the girlies love their boys of the month. When a favored musical artist releases a song, an actor stars in a new show or movie or a hot celebrity does something funny in an interview, social media gets flooded with content. Hence, a new boy of the month is crowned.

With the Spotify Wrapped release on Nov. 29, I thought it was fitting to make my own little wrap-up.

Here is my 2023 Internet Boy of the Month Wrapped.

January: Pedro Pascal

Pedro Pascal has had several notable roles in shows like “Game of Thrones” and “The Mandalorian,” but his fame skyrocketed in January due to the release of “The Last of Us” on HBO Max.

Co-starring alongside Bella Ramsey, Pascal portrays Joel Miller in the television adaptation of the 2013 “The Last of Us” video game.

February: Harry Styles

In addition to five albums with One Direction, Harry Styles has three solo albums and started accepting acting roles in 2017.

He performed around the world for his concert tour titled “Love On Tour” for 22 months straight, with the final show held in Italy on July 22.

Fans were devastated to see him go, despite the constant stream of media produced since the beginning of the tour in September 2021.

Edits of Styles’ concerts and acting performances circulated all year, but he was especially notable in February of this year when he won two Grammys.

He received one for Best Pop Vocal Album and another for Album of the Year.

March: Sam claflin

Known for his acting performances in movies such as “Me Before You” and “The Hunger Games” franchise, Sam Claflin has been popular for many years.

He recaptured everyone’s hearts this March with the release of the Amazon Original series “Daisy Jones and The Six.”

Claflin portrays the character Billy Dunne, a popular musician from the 1970s, which had everyone falling in love with him all over again.

April: Chris Evans

Many Marvel fans know Chris Evans for his role as Captain America in the Avengers movies, but his acting career spans over 20 years and boasts quite an array of characters.

I loved him in the 2019 murder mystery movie “Knives Out” because we got to see him as the villain, a drastic change from the noble and unflinching Avengers hero. Evans starred alongside Ana de Armas for the role, and he worked with her again this year in “Ghosted.”

I get excited every time Evans appears onscreen, and this time was no different.

May: Corey mylchreest

Corey Mylchreest is a British actor, and there’s nothing better than a boy with an accent.

Mylchreest shot to fame in May with the release of Netflix’s “Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story.”

He portrays young King George in the series, and all I have to say is long live the King.

June: Jeremy Allen white

Jeremy Allen White is most notable for his role as Phillip “Lip” Ghallager in the series “Shameless.”

I considered him a heartthrob from the beginning, but he diversified his repertoire as Chef Carmen in “The Bear,” which debuted in 2022. The second season came out in June of this year, and the internet went wild with paparazzi photos and fan edits of White.

July: Chris Briney

“The Summer I Turned Pretty” had us all in a chokehold when the first season aired in 2022. Chris Briney stole our hearts in season two, and everyone wanted Connie Baby for themselves.

It felt like every other TikTok on my For You Page was about TSITP or Briney himself.

August: nicholas galitzine

“Red, White & Royal Blue” and “Bottoms” star Nicholas Galitzine quickly became the internet’s most loved man in August.

Like Corey, Nicholas stole the show with his British accent and singing Instagram stories.

This British heartthrob also had us all watching his old movies like “Handsome Devil,” “Cinderella” and “Purple Hearts” just to get a glimpse at his pretty face.

September: Travis kelce

This Kansas City football player was put on the girlies’ radar when word got around that he was dating Taylor Swift.

Kelce is also known for his podcast “New Heights,” which he co-hosts with his brother Jason.

All I know is if he’s good enough for Taylor, he is good enough for me.

October: Josh Hutcherson

“Five Nights at Freddy’s” reanimated everyone’s love for the former “Hunger Games” star Josh Hutcherson. Edits started rolling out immediately when everyone saw how dreamy Josh looked in his role as Michael Schmidt.

I have been obsessed with Josh since he played Peeta in “The Hunger Games,” and this time is no different.

November: Tom blyth

November’s beau caught everyone’s attention with the fourth Hunger Games movie, “The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.”

Blyth is up-and-comer to the Hollywood scene, but he quickly captivated his audience with his good looks.

I’m not ashamed to admit that his is the first face I see when I look at my phone screen in the morning. If loving Tom Blyth is wrong, I don’t want to be right.

December: Jacob elordi

Jacob Elordi is no stranger to being a boy of the month.

Elordi has starred in some fan favorites like “Euphoria” as Nate Jacobs and “The Kissing Booth” as Noah Flynn.

Elordi was the top boy of the month in December because of his new role in both “Priscilla” and “Saltburn.”

honorable mentions:

I feel it is important to mention to these other notable boys, all of whom have stolen our hearts at one point or another this year.

Ross Lynch released a new song titled “Rumors” this year, and I’m obsessed. He also performed in Troy Sivan’s “One of Your Girls” music video this year, which was incredible.

Austin Butler got attention for his role as Elvis in the 2022 “Elvis” film. The girls haven’t forgotten about it and are still obsessed over a year later.

Ryan Gosling played Ken in Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie.” The movie was released in July of this year, and Gosling has received a 2024 Grammy nomination for his performance. I’d argue that he could be right alongside Chris Briney for the boy of July.

Timothée Chalamet was spotted with Kylie Jenner earlier this year. I didn’t have their romance on my bingo card, but it’s iconic. His movie “Wonka” also released on on Dec. 15.

Finally, Will Poulter received attention for his role in “The Bear” alongside Jeremy Allen White.

I’d say my New Year’s resolution is to spend less time on my phone, but how can I when there are all of these pretty boys to look at?

I can’t wait to find out who the first boy of the month is this year.
