11 Signs It’s Officially Winter In Happy Valley

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at PSU chapter.

As someone who lives in a Chicago suburb, I thought I had it pretty bad when it came to winter. However, I have to admit that there’s another place that just might give my hometown a run for its money. That’s right, folks – there doesn’t seem to be anything quite like winter in State College. In fact, the weather is so wild here that you’ve probably even contemplated hibernation!

1. Your previously mediocre dorm bed is so much more cozy, amazing and intriguing than ever before.

2. That 8 a.m. lecture on the other hand? Not so much.

3. You realize you have to be just a little more careful walking to class now.

4. But no matter what you do, trying to hike up Shortlidge usually still ends up like this:

5. Your Snapchat story is either a, “Help me, I’m trapped in a blizzard,” selfie or a snowy shot of Old Main.

6. You try to look good in front of that cute guy, but the brutal winter wind just won’t let that happen.

7. Actually, the weather is so bad that trying to look presentable at all just isn’t worth your time.

8. Even though it’s cold, you still just can’t resist that Creamery ice cream.

9. Traveling to Fratland is a little more difficult than it used to be.

10. But nothing can stop you and your squad from having a fun night out.

11. Literally nothing.

There you have it, collegiettes – winter has undeniably arrived at Penn State. So, the real question here is:
