As you all know, the long awaited Jeffree Star and Shane Dawson collaboration has launched. By now, mostly everyone has their palettes and have been doing some very cool and artistic looks with it. Guess who did not get their palette??? ME.
I was so excited for the launch of this palette, I knew it was going to happen since the last series that Shane did with Jeffree and they were discussing how it would be amazing if they collaborated together. When Shane released his new series with Jeffree, it gave you a look on how the whole entire Conspiracy palette was created, and the steps they had to go through in order to create it. The series has included 6 parts so far, leading up to the launch of the Shane Dawson x Jeffree Star launch that happened on November 1st.
This was the most anticipated launch of the career in the beauty community, especially with the superfans of Shane Dawson and Jeffree Star. I was so excited to get my hands on one of these palettes. It launched at 1 P.M. on the East Coast, and I was on the website by 12:30 just waiting to refresh it and be one of the first people to have that palette in my cart. As soon as the clock jumped to 1, I refreshed and clicked on the Conspiracy palette as fast as I could. YES, I got it in my cart. My adrenaline was pumping because I was so excited that I had got it. I went to my cart and it exited me out of the whole website. There were so many people on Jeffree Star Cosmetics that we broke the whole internet. Every single site that was selling the palette such as Morphe, and Beautylish all broke down too.
I had to repeat the same steps again even though there were over 1 million people on the site. I was able to throw it back into my online cart again and get to the checkout. As soon as I was putting my card information in, it brought me to a page that put me in a line of other customers waiting to check out as well. I was so confused, but I figured that meant I had got the palette since it put me into a waiting line. I kid you not, I sat on the computer until almost 3 P.M. waiting in this line to check out. Yes, I waited 2 hours for my palette, and guess what? I got a message that popped up saying “Thank you! Your confirmation email will be sent out soon!” Guess who never got that confirmation email? You guessed it. It was me.
Even though it had told me I got my order, I really didn’t. Luckily enough, they did a presale a few days later for the palette to be shipped by the end of November through early December. Since the website crashed immediately, Jeffree didn’t even tell what time they were going to put them back on the website, you just had to keep a close watch on it all day. This time, I was able to get my hands on the beautiful Conspiracy palette. I have my standards set super high and I cannot wait to try it. The ordering process was absolutely awful and unfair, but I am just glad that I was one of the people to be able to get on the presale. Jeffree stated that there will not be another full launch until sometime in 2020, so keep your eyes open for that!
