Patricia: Making Mistakes: Cut Yourself Some Slack!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Princeton chapter.

Everyone makes mistakes. Let me say that again: everyone makes mistakes. And guess what? It’s okay.

One cheat meal of hamburgers and fries will not cause you to balloon 10 pounds. One missed training session will not cause your muscles to atrophy. One slice of your favorite cake will NOT make you fat. Partying with your friends for one or two nights a week will not reverse your muscle and fat loss gains.

Cut yourself some slack, okay? As long as you are determined to be fit and healthy, occasionally slipping up will not affect your long-term journey. Keep your eyes set on your goal and as long as you exercise some modicum of self control, you’ll be absolutely fine.
