Showcasing UP’s Most Stylish: Lisa Creatura!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Portland chapter.

Umm, WOW Portland – you really came to win this weekend! Fashionistas campus-wide have expressed their thanks for the abundant summer sunshine with fun patterns, bright summery colors, and yes, dresses. Lisa graced campus in one of our favorite spring styles, the denim shirt, but with her own spin. Learn how she did it here!

Name: Lisa Creatura, 20

Major: Spanish, with Education and English minors

How do you describe your style? (laughs) My mom dresses me. My style is, um, honestly, I don’t really think about it. It’s just whatever I like. I like classic, basic things, with like one or two weird things in there. Classic kitsch – that’s how I would define my style.

What are your favorite places to shop? I like to look at the clothes at Anthropologie and get inspired by them. I like to look at their clothes and then make a cheaper version of it. A lot of fun, secondhand stores I like to go to. Or, I really like my mom’s closet or my roommates’ closets.

Favorite Piece of Clothing: I love my jean jacket. I wear it with everything. I wear it probably five times a week.

Do you follow trends or make your own? I buy what’s in the stores, so that’s following trends I guess. I don’t go out of my way buy something though. If I see something and I like it, I’ll wear it. I like funky, kitsch prints. I like Hawaiian prints a lot.

Where do you find your inspiration?  My mom is the best dressed person that I know. I just copy her outfits. Or a lot of the times I’m wearing her clothes, like she bought the shoes I’m wearing at a street market in Italy.

Currently Wearing:
Allie’s denim shirt [similar]
Chartreuse high-waisted, mid-calf skirt [similar]
Strappy Italian leather sandals [similar]

Send us your best spring looks before this sunshine disappears! We want to see how you work the trends!

Hailing from eastern Washington, Julia attends the University of Portland in Oregon, as a Communication Studies major with an emphasis on Journalism. As a magazine and book junkie, Julia reads everything (and anything) she can get her hands on, especially those passionate on young adult culture and entertainment. A woman that gets stir-crazy easily, Julia has been fortunate to have traveled many summers in a row to foreign countries, including a study abroad course in Austria, Germany, and Great Britain. Since a ripe age, she has grown and cultivated her passion and dream of working for a magazine and spreading awareness as well as happiness through the tips of her fingers. Always finding time for herself, Julia can frequently be found quoting movie lines (most frequently Will Ferrell or Vince Vaughn), having a 90's dance party with her roommates, or rereading "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" for the 40th time.
