James Lange and his cat, Miller, the “champagne of cats.”

If you were a tree, what would be carved in your trunk?

It would probably say, “Joey was here.” My friends love playing pranks and getting me into trouble but I love them and wouldn’t give up our adventures for anything in the world.

If you had to choose one city to live in for the rest of your life, which city would you choose?

Seattle is where I’m from, and I have to pick there. It has the best of nature to look at with the ocean, forests, and mountains. It’s also the home to almost my entire family, and I wouldn’t want to leave them.

There is a zombie apocalypse on the horizon, they are quickly invading Portland and you only have 1 hour to escape. What are three things you would take with you and what’s your plan of escape?

I would take my truck, baseball bat, and Miller (my cat), and head to Montana. I would live inside Costco, where I would have lots of supplies. Also with more guns than people, there is no way that Montana would ever get taken by zombies.

Hardest thing you’ve ever done?

While staying at a cabin some friends and I thought it would be a good idea to hike this small mountain. We reached the top, but by the time we got there the sun was setting and it was too dark to go back the way we came. We found a logging trail on the mountain and decided to try and follow it down. We ended up wandering through the forest for seven hours, and hiking over two mountains. It was amazing that we made it down, and even though it was hard, [it] was one of the craziest adventures I’ve been on.

What is music for you?

Music is the greatest form of expression. I sing a lot in my life, between multiple choirs and bands, and I can’t imagine existence without that influence of singing. There is even history of musicians in my family heritage. So I see music as part of my identity and necessary for life.

Valentine’s Day is approaching. Any special plans?

I’ve never been a big Valentine’s celebrator, but I am a little bit of a sap at heart. I don’t really have anyone that I’m seeing right now so I have no plans for any big dates. If a special girl came into my life though, I would definitely be open for taking her out for good a time.

I like places. I like people. I like stories; every place, and every person has a story. I want to write as many stories about that place and those people until the stories run dry. Which is...never. So I will continue to write. Please, tell me a story.
