It’s that time of year again: The leaves are turning orange and yellow, school is back in session and your closet is begging for a shift in a cooler direction. Here is a list that Her Campus Point Park has put together to bring you the must have style trends for fall 2014 to help you start the season off right:
1. Scarves
With the cooler change in weather starting, a great way to accessorize any fall outfit is a pretty little scarf! The minimalist look is huge this season, so a simple black scarf will add the right amount of interest.
2. Ankle Boots
The ankle boot had a huge moment this summer, and it’s here to stay for the fall! Wear your favorite ankle boots with a pair of skinny jeans and you’re ready to strut your stuff!
3. Legging Pants
This is a great way to add a rocker vibe to your look. Pair them with a nice top and some heels for a perfectly balanced outfit that just screams fall.
4. Studded Purses
Studs are so in right now! Studded purses match with everything and come in all shapes and sizes, so you can easily find one that will fit your style.
5. Chambray
One trend that is taking over the runways is the menswear-inspired look. A good tailored button down shirt is the perfect way to include this trend in your everyday outfits. The chambray top borrows from the men and adds denim to your look, which is another popular addition to a fall wardrobe.
6. Anything Leopard Print
Animal prints are all over the fashion world, and for good reason! Fall is the perfect time to wear your favorite wild print. Don’t be afraid to mix it with some stripes; pattern mixing is a fun way to liven up your wardrobe and show that you’re fashion forward and not afraid to take risks!
7. Oversized Sweaters
For the perfect comfy-but-cute look, oversized sweaters are perfect! They come in many colors and designs and they are also super warm! You can decide to layer with tank tops or simply just the sweater as is. It all depends on your preference and the weather. Great with leggings, this look is super laid back but still oh so cute!
Which trend will you be embracing this fall?
