March Madness or March Marathon?

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Point Park chapter.

The month of March is known for basketball. It’s when all the hot guys over 6’0 fight it out on the court. For my sports lovers, the 78th edition of the NCAA Men’s Division I Basketball Tournament will begin on March 15th. Not to forget my lady ballers and supporters, the NCAA Women’s Division I Basketball Tournament will begin on March 25th.

However, for my film fanatics, this year in March many movies are coming out. Check out the three movies below to see what might fit your taste.

For the action lovers: London Has Fallen on March 4

The leaders of the Western world have to attend the funeral of the British Prime Minister who mysteriously passed away, then find themselves at the center of a deadly plot.

Why see it? The actors! Two hotties who aged well, Gerard Butler and Aaron Eckhart, and Morgan Freeman aka the ideal grandfather with the distinctive voice. Oh, and the edge-of-your seat action of course.

For the Sci-Fi lovers: The Divergent Series: Allegiant on March 18th

In the third movie of the Divergent Series, Allegiant, Beatrice and Tobias journey into the world outside of the fence and find themselves in protective custody by a strange agency.

Why see it? Beautiful characters and a plot that hits the action for the adrenaline junkies and the romance for the sentimentalist.  Who doesn’t love a good series?

For the superhero lovers: Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice on March 25th

Gotham City’s Batman battles with god-like Superman while the world questions what hero it needs. During the feud, a force arises and poses a mighty threat to mankind.

Why see it? Not just one superhero, but two! This is the ultimate two for one deal. Are you #teambatman or #teamsuperman?

Point Park

Hey my name's Mira. I'm a student at Point Park University majoring in Mass Communications. I love all things fitness and film related. One day, I'd love to become a screenwriter. If that doesn't work out, I'd like to work in marketing and public relations. I spend most of my time at the gym or watching American Dad. I can't wait for #HTGAWM to come back on. Annalise Keating is amazing, but even more so is Viola Davis.
Lexie Mikula is senior Mass Communications major at Point Park University from Harrisburg, PA. Lexie held the position of Campus Correspondent and contributing editor-in-chief of HC Point Park from May 2014 - May 2016. In addition to social journalism and media, she enjoys rainy days in the city, dogs with personality, watching The Goonies with her five roommates (and HC teammates!), and coffee... copious amounts of coffee.
