These are ten shower essentials I love and use every time I shower. These are some products I’d highly recommend.
- Washcloth
I tend to use a washcloth to scrub my body with my body washes. I will usually buy a pack of three, in different colors, for my body and another pack of three, in white, for my face. This helps so I know which washcloths are just used for my body and which washcloths are just used for my face, since I have sensitive skin. You can easily find different washcloths in Walmart and Target.
- Dove Body Wash
I love Dove body wash; it keeps my skin smelling good and feeling smooth. I tend to get the biggest size I can find, which is usually 34 ounces. I also tend to get the same scent, which is peony and rose oil. The ingredients in the Dove body wash I use helps with renewing my skin. There are other scents that aid your skin in different ways, like one that refreshes your skin, another helps it glow, another relaxes your skin and there’s many more. I tend to get this body wash from Walmart.
- Victoria’s Secret: Pink Body Wash (Second Body Wash)
I like to wash my body twice with two different body washes to make sure my body really gets cleaned and smells good. Another body wash I tend to use as my second body wash is from Victoria’s Secret Pink. Pink has so many different scents as well, and they also have multiple different benefits for your skin. The one I get is called Cucumber Water, which smells good and isn’t an overwhelming smell. This type of body wash helps refresh my skin. There are many other scents with other benefits like Coco Vanilla which exfoliates the skin, Honey Wash which nourishes the skin, and Coco Scrub Wash, which also exfoliates the skin. I usually just order this off of the Victoria’s Secret Pink website or go to the store when I’m visiting home in New York City.
- Body Scrub
Along with the body wash, I tend to get a matching body scrub or just another well-scented body scrub. I don’t use body scrubs every day, since I don’t want to mess up my skin by exfoliating it too much. I will usually use it two times a week to keep my skin smooth and remove my dead skin. There are two types of brands that I love to use: one is Tree Hut, and the other one is Victoria’s Secret Pink. My favorite one from Tree Hut, even though they have so many good scents, is Moroccan Rose. One day I was looking for a good bath scrub and discovered Tree Hut, and I decided to give it a try. I started smelling all the different scents at Walmart, and as soon as I smelled the Moroccan Rose scent, I knew it was the one. I have been using it for a while now. The other body scrub I use is called Coco Scrub that I got since I love the Coco Lotion. The scent is also not that powerful, which is good for me since I’m not a big fan of coconut. Currently, this scent isn’t available, but you can find other scents on Victoria’s Secret Pink website or store.
- Exfoliating Gloves
When I use my body scrubs, I also use my exfoliating gloves to help the body scrub really do its job, as well as help clean my body, since it helps the scrub foam up a bit. There are different colors to fit different people’s preferences and the gloves tend to stretch to fit all hand sizes. I usually get light colors or white, and I find them in a lot of places like Dollar Tree, Walmart, Target and more.
- Shower Gel
The last item I wash my body with is shower gel. This is mainly to smell good and do not use these products on your private areas or your face. There are a lot of different scents and brands, but I stick to Bath & Body Works. The scent I get is called Champagne Toast. I got that shower gel because I loved the scent so much from having the perfume and the candle. I also have it in the body wash form, but I rarely use it since it’s pricey. I tend to buy it online or in the Bath & Body Works store.
- Loofah
When I put shower gel on my body I usually use a loofah, which is better for getting dirt off my body, more so than a washcloth. The loofah also helps the shower gel foam up a lot. There are different types of loofahs and every single color imaginable. You can find loofahs in a lot of stores like Target, Walmart, Dollar Tree, Family Dollar, 5 Below and more.
- Body Oil
After I’m done showering I don’t dry myself off immediately. While my body is still wet I like to put body oil on and let the oil absorb into my skin. I wasn’t a fan of body oil at first. I used to put it on my dried skin, which would leave my skin slippery and shiny, and I didn’t like that. After learning the proper way to put on body oil, I now use it every time to end my shower routine. The brand I tend to use is Dr. Teals, since I use their bath salt and soap too. But Tree Hut also is a good brand to get body oil from. Victoria’s Secret Pink also has a nice body oil. The one I mainly use from Dr. Teal is the Shea Butter one, which is ultra-rich in moisture. They have other scents like lavender, eucalyptus, coconut, melatonin and more. You can find this oil in Walmart and other scents on the Target website.
- Towels
After I’m done using my oil I then use a towel to dry myself off. I like soft towels, so it’s not too rough or harsh on my skin. If the towel is a little rough, I pat my skin dry instead. I don’t worry too much about fully drying my body, since I put my soft robe over me and that gets the remaining water off. I tend to get white and soft colors for my towels, just like my washcloths, so they can match. I usually find the best ones in Target, Marshalls and Walmart.
- Shower Shoes
Last but not least, I always need my shower shoes. Since I’m a college student, I have to take showers in public bathrooms. You can never trust how clean the floors are, so to avoid catching anything or damaging my feet, I protect my feet with shower shoes. I prefer to use the slides I have from Victoria’s Secret Pink as my shower shoes, since the water will still be able to get onto my feet, and why not use those instead of buying shower shoes. There are many different slides that are made for showers that tend to have holes all around them to make sure the water easily travels out of it. You can find them at Walmart, Target and Amazon. You can get the slides that I have from Victoria’s Secret Pink.
You don’t have to use the same products as me, but these are the products I’d recommend because they work good, are effective, useful, and/or smell amazing. If you do give them a try, I hope you like them as much as I do and they are a good fit for you. We all love to smell and feel good.
