Ladies, it’s that time of the year again when we start refreshing our beauty routines for the springtime!

We’ve compiled some of the prettiest looks for spring and tips on how to enhance your look. Continue reading for all the best colors and styles for spring makeup and nails!

1) Makeup

Red and orange lips: Bold, beautiful, and bright! Chose red and orange hues for your lips and pair it with natural eye and face makeup, allowing you to look like you’re straight off the spring runways.  Also, tangerine is notably one (if not the) top color of the spring season.

Avoid applying these colors if they contain excess shimmer, because it can look super overdone—especially for the daytime. Plus, the matte look is in for spring!  “If your skin has cool undertones, go for blue reds; warmer skin tones can try fiery, orangey hues. And if you want to go for outright orange, stick to one that has a hint of red—a true orange requires a heap of confidence to pull off.” (Allure.com).

Brown and bronzed:Eye makeup in elegant brown hues brings out the bronze goddess in anyone. (Note, if you’re still pretty pale, enhance your skin tone with some bronzer before accentuating the eyes with brown colors.  Otherwise, you’ll look tired and washed out.) Brown hues are also an excellent way to wear makeup and look natural at the same time.  In my opinion, girls always look their best with natural looking makeup rather than Snooki-inspired looks. (Even Snooki looks better sans globs of makeup!) You can also try caramel-colored browns and beiges on the cheeks and eyes.  Try this bronzing collection by Nars, available at Sephora.

Sequin and foil embellishments: Givenchy recently utilized sequins as eye makeup embellishments on the runway.  This bold runway look straight from the runway (see below right) may be too excessive for a night out on the town, but there are simple ways to get a similar look that’s more appropriate. To get the glistening gold look, apply a pretty brown, gold, or pink eye shadow and layer on any one of these beautiful shimmers and glitters by Make Up Forever

2) Nails

There is a wide range of colors of nail polish that are in style this season. Among them are muted pastels such as chartreuse, pistachio, and periwinkle blue. If you’re feeling the periwinkle, try OPI’s color I Don’t Give a Rotterdam. Or, for a nice pistachio shade, try Yves Saint Laurent in Edition 7.
In a completely different color spectrum, bright fuschias, reds, and corals are also trendy for spring. A great option for a fuschia shade is from Butter London called Disco Biscuit. For coral, check out Essie’s California Coral.
Another trend that also happens to be good news for the lazy manicure enthusiast is neutral nails. This means you don’t have to put any polish on at all to feel stylish with nude nails. However, if you want a neutral color that looks a little more finished, try a nude shade such as Orly in Prelude to a Kiss.
One last nail style that is popular right now is not just one color. Many people have recently been creating serious art on their nails with funky, cool designs. From simple stripes to more elaborate animal prints, anything goes with this trend. If you’re looking for some inspiration to try this artsy idea, check out Pinterest and search “nails.” You don’t need a Pinterest account to see the results, and you will truly be amazed by the designs other people have come up with for their digits.
