Short Skirts/Dresses With Pants

Have you ever seen Gossip Girl? If you have, you know that they LOVED an absurdly short shirt or dress styled with pants, leggings or thick tights underneath. I think that today’s teens and twenty-somethings are going to adore the outrageously tiny skirt and dress look with pants underneath. If styled correctly, it is a slightly scandalous but chic look. If styled incorrectly, you do run the risk of looking like me in the fourth grade!

Everyday Business casual

Everyone loves a good business casual girl boss moment, and I think that this year we are going to casually girl boss every day of the week. A toned-down version of business casual is just starting to trend and I think will blow up as an everyday look, including sweater vests, pencil skirts, blazers, button downs and chunky heels, worn for no special occasion at all. This professional everyday look goes along with the clean girl aesthetic that has been a trend for all of 2023, and I think business casual is the next phase. Is the blazer the new jean jacket?

Chunky Jewelry

For a good while now, we have been rocking simplistic, minimalist jewelry. In these first few weeks of the new year, I have noticed more and more statement jewelry and I think this is going to be an everyday look for the season. Basic clothes with a bold necklace, or slick back hair and large, loud earrings to be a little bit different is going to be the style, compared to studs and simple hoops.

3D Roses

Since bows are the new staple, I think the 3D flower, specifically roses, will come back too. Remember in second grade when you wore a t-shirt with a 3D rose on the neckline, or a headband with a flower on it? I think that with the return of bows, flowers will follow! There is something very girly about a cute little flower to dress up a simple t-shirt, and also matches the ballerina aesthetic we have going right now for the girly girls.

Bold Eyeshadow

Neutral, “no-makeup” makeup looks have been in for a while now and I think that with the return of Y2K will come with bold eyeshadow! We all know many 2000s trends have been coming back, and the “no-makeup” makeup look does not match the vibe. I think vibrantly colored eyeshadow will come back to match the vibrant, bold clothes of the 2000s. That being said, I do not think vibrant makeup will be a trend for the girlies rocking business casual; bold eyeshadow will be a situational statement look!

Berets

This is a random guess – but I think that berets are going to be in. There have been so many outside-the-box accessories lately like large glasses, shoes that are impossible to walk in and minuscule “purses”, that I think berets are a potential trend. There is something adorable about a hat that has no purpose and could spice up a plain outfit. I feel fashion influencers on Instagram or TikTok could easily make this a trend if they just started wearing berets.

Her favorite book series always has been (and always will be) Harry Potter, but has recently enjoyed "Heart Bones", "Gone Girl", and "Verity". A few of Julia's hobbies include playing tennis, hiking, playing the piano, going for hot girl walks, and spending time with her family and friends.
