Life at Pitt as Described by Parks and Recreation

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Pitt chapter.

College at the University of Pittsburgh can be described in many ways, but a picture is worth a thousand words, right? The NBC hit comedy Parks and Recreation helps describe just what life at Pitt is like for the students.

1. Going to another schools campus and they try to impress you with their “cool” monument, but it is still not the Cathedral of Learning.

2. Whenever you are outside of class and someone mentions something you know about from class.

3. Attempting to flirt with the smart kid in class.

4. When you are studying and see the dogs in the Cathedral.

5. Sitting down to write a paper but having no idea how to begin.

6. Midterms/Finals mentality.

7. When you go into Hillman and all the outlet tables are taken.

8. Going to Hemingway’s/Peters/Garage Door but realizing you are still broke.

9. Bumming it for a week and someone comments that you haven’t looked nice.

10. When you are in class and have no idea what is going on but the teacher calls on you.

11. Anytime you see someone posing with the panther outside the Union.

12. When you are halfway up Cardiac Hill to the Pete but have some rational thought.

13. Going to Market and getting plates on plates on plates of food.

And finally a lasting piece of advice from Ron Swanson:
