There’s an old story that says wearing green on St. Patrick’s Day makes you invisible to Leprechauns who are inclined to pinch anyone they can see. If you were wondering how to best incorporate green into your St. Patrick’s Day attire to avoid being pinched (or just because it’s fun to be festive!), look no further. Here are some ideas that will make everyone green with envy over your St. Patty’s Day outfit.

1. Green Converse

You can pretty much never go wrong with a pair of Chucks. Both high and low tops can be paired with black skinny jeans or leggings or they can add a fun splash of color to a black and white dress. Tie it all together with a green belt and you have a perfect St. Patty’s look made with pieces that you can rock all year round.

2. Green Knits

Let’s be real: sure, March marks the official beginning of spring, but we all know winter wear will still be a necessity in Pittsburgh. Now you have an excuse to keep wearing your biggest, comfiest, and, of course, greenest sweater! If you’re looking for a more subtle touch of green, switch the green sweater for a more neutral one, but add a green scarf or necklace.

3. Green Hair

Looking to try something fun with your hair but not ready to commit to anything too crazy? St. Patty’s Day is a great way to test the waters with green hair extensions. You can get cheap clip-in ones online or from most beauty supply stores. All the fun and zero commitment, what more could you want?

4. Green Nails

Gather the girls and plan a St. Patrick’s Day Manicure Night. Get creative and turn your nails into Leprechauns or stick with something simple like a green base coat and gold glitter concentrated at the tips. Whatever you do, remember that St. Patrick’s Day only comes once a year, so have fun with it and embrace the green!
