Interview with Tucker Max- Womanizer or Success Story?

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Pitt chapter.

“You’re all totally fucked!” said Tucker Max to his audience of Pitt students.

The number one best selling author was invited to speak at the University of Pittsburgh last Monday night.  His first book, I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell, has sold over one million copies worldwide and he has followed up with three more notable works that have also received a great deal of attention.

Not all of this attention is positive, however.  Max is known for sharing his most outrageous bachelor stories on his blog and in his books.  Some of these stories go into detail depicting his sexual encounters with the multitude of women he has been with.  On his website, www.tuckermax.com, he includes stories under the categories of “Blowjob follies” and “Tucker tries buttsex, hilarity does not ensue.”

Understandably so, this has caused offense to many women, claiming Max is disrespectful and demeaning.  In response Max’s invitation to speak at the University, Pitt’s Campus Women Organization decided to hold a protest outside of the room Max was speaking in.

When asked his opinion on this protest, Max replied, “The protest is obviously ridiculous.   It’s just a bunch of kooks trying to get attention for themselves.  They don’t even say anything cogent, they are just talking gibberish.”

Max surprised his audience with an opening speech that had nothing to do with his crazy college stories or hookups.  Instead, he spoke about how unprepared we are, as students, for the real world.

“Your parents and your educational institutions have completely and utterly failed you,” explains Max, claiming that everything we have been told up until this point has been a lie due to ulterior motives.  He continued to offer motivational advice concerning how to approach the world after we leave our safe haven of college life.

Max accentuated on the ideas of taking risks, creating your own passions, asking questions, and making your own life.  He encouraged his audience to pave their own road to success and use natural ambition to pursue what they really want out of life.

After listening to Max speak, I had the opportunity to exchange phone numbers (and join the countless other college girls in his phone) and get to know him a little better.  Here are a few questions I asked him:

HC: What genre of music do you usually find yourself listening to?

Max: “I listen to rap, and mostly Houston rap at that. Slim Thug, Paul Wall, Geto Boys, etc, etc.”

HC: Since you are quite experienced in the area, what is your favorite sex position?

Max: “I am pretty vanilla. What’s interesting to me about sex is not different positions, but the connection with the person, and that can be in almost any position.”

HC: If you could say anything in response to the many women who are offended by your writing, what would you say?

Max: “I don’t understand why any woman would be offended. More than half my fans are women, and most than half the people in my speech at Pitt were women. If all those thousands and millions of women love my writing, then I think the dozen protestors are the ones who are probably wrong.”

Tucker Max has certainly made a name for himself, but whether that name should be applauded or protested will remain a controversy.  One thing is for sure, though- Tucker Max has claimed to put his partying days behind him and is looking to settle down with just one girl.  So ladies, if you’re looking for a loyal spouse, just ask me for his number. ;)
