Four Summer Products To Keep You Looking Hot (In a Good Way!)

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Pitt chapter.

Now that summer is in full force, our schedules are packed with jobs, parties, and vacations that keep us active.  Sometimes, at the end of the day, we find ourselves exhausted with sunburns and hairstyles ruined by humidity.  In order to beat the heat, I have found four products that can help keep us looking natural and fresh—even when the temperatures rise.

Click the links below to check out the products, get more tips on how to use them, and for information on where to find them!

#1: Garnier Fructis Anti-Frizz Serum: Sleek and Shine.
This little bottle of miracle serum makes a huge impact on “frizzy,” “unmanageable hair” that is a common problem for girls in the summertime.  I use it all the time! Just put a little dab in the palm of your hand and then work it into your hair.  It helps to keep hair looking shiny and frizz-free throughout the day and when you show up at an evening party, your hair will be looking just as good as it did in the morning.  Finish off a particular hairstyle with Garnier Fructis’ Full Control: Anti-Humidity Hairspray and you’ll be sure to have a good hair day.

#2:  Jergens Natural Glow: Daily Facial Moisturizer
So many tanning moisturizers and products that promise instant tans end up making our skin looking all sorts of fake—whether it be with uneven coloring or a layer of orange.  But this face moisturizer by Jergens, with tanning tones, gradually creates an even glow that looks like you have been gradually getting tanner at the beach.  It’s so natural, and I find that by using a generous amount everyday, I don’t have to spend so much time in the sun and facing sunburn.  Also, you can choose from three different moisturizers based on your current skin tone. That makes the product more unique to the individual and more likely to look natural.  This oil-free moisturizer also has SPF 20 in it so you have extra protection from UVA/UVB rays.  For an all over tan, I also recommend the Jergens complementary body moisturizer in the same tone.  With healthy, glowing, and moisturized skin, you’ll be sure to look amazing.

#3:  Oil-free eye makeup remover by Neutrogena
We should always take our makeup off before bed in order to keep our skin looking fresh and prevent it from breaking out.  As if this process weren’t annoying enough, sometimes the summer heat causes our makeup to smudge, drip, and stick.  This makeup remover is super gentle and won’t leave an oily residue on your face after you use it.  Also, since we may have to resort to waterproof makeup for our visits to beaches and pools, this can be used to be sure to easily remove the stubborn makeup when soap and water simply won’t work. Shake the bottle, apply the remover with cotton, and rinse afterwards.  You’ll be set with a clean face palette for your makeup tomorrow!

#4: High Beam highlighter by Benefit
This is by far one of my favorite makeup products—ever! I find that not too many people know about it so I keep introducing this product to my friends and now they’ve come to love it too.  After applying your makeup (concealer, bronzer, blush, etc.), use this liquid highlighter on your cheeks and brows to give your completion a pretty, radiant glow.  It comes in a bottle similar to a nail polish bottle with an attached brush inside for easy application.  All you do is dot just a little of the product above your cheeks and on your brow bone and rub it in to highlight the area.  It looks so pretty and an easy way to brighten your look and keep you looking natural and shimmering.  You can find it at Sephora, Ulta, or Amazon.com and it will last you all summer and with some to spare for a long time!
