The cold is making its annual appearance again, leaving many collegiates rethinking their wardrobe. It is often a struggle to find an outfit that is stylish and won’t leave you shivering… or so you think. Believe it or not, there are ways to be both warm and fashionable.

1. Layers, Layers, Layers

The layered look is in. Layer a sweater under a jacket, a T-shirt under a sweater or layer all three. On an extra cold day, wear leggings under a pair of jeans or sweatpants for a more invisible layered look.

2. Sweaters of All Kinds

It’s called sweater weather for a reason. Whether it’s a cardigan, pullover, turtleneck, over sized sweater, tight sweater, or sweater dress, a sweater is perfect when it comes to keeping you warm on a chilly day, or to provide that additional layer of warmth under your jacket.

3. Scarves

Scarves are a girl’s best friend. They come in every color, shape, size, and material, so you can pair a scarf with almost anything you’re wearing to keep your neck warm, while pulling your whole outfit together.

4. Leg Warmers

You may think leg warmers were a trend of the 80s, but they’re coming back. They go perfectly with boots, insulating your calves, while acting as a cute accessory.

5. Fuzzy Socks

For those of you who literally get cold feet, you can never have enough fuzzy socks. They come in an array of colors and designs, and they work to keep your toes from turning blue. If they don’t match your outfit, wear them under tall boots and no one will see them.

6. A Stylish Coat

Rather than covering up your outfit, your coat can become a part of your outfit. Pick out a peacoat, a leather jacket, or whatever your style may be, there’s a coat for it.

7. Tights

Need to class it up but don’t want your legs to freeze? Tights are the answer! Black tights in particular can add that extra dash of class. If you don’t like the look of tights though, there are always nude colored tights to keep your legs invisibly warm.

8. A Knit Hat/Beanie

“Top off” your look with a knit hat or a beanie. It will keep your ears and head warm while giving you that additional flare to your outfit.
