20 Things That People Who Are Always Cold Understand

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Pitt chapter.

It’s hard being that person who’s always cold—especially during the winter in Pittsburgh! There are just some things our warm-blooded peers will never understand but everyone who gets cold easily is far too familiar with.

1. Everyone you shake hands with mentions how cold your hands are.

2. You dread accidentally touching your cold foot to your own leg when you’re trying to fall asleep.

3. Wearing tights under jeans for warmth, not the aesthetic.

4. The pain of getting out of bed in the morning, not because you’re tired, but because of how cold your room is when you’re not under a pile of blankets.

5. But then you find the relief of a warm shower

6. But you also understand how awful it is to leave a warm shower.

7. This is your signature winter look:

8. You either own or have seriously considered buying a Snuggie.

9. Classrooms always seem to become progressively colder as class goes on.

10. You have to carry an extra sweater every time you leave the house.

11. You can never have too many wool socks.

12. You steal your friends’ layers because none of them seem to feel the cold.

13. You understand the struggle of applying sunscreen with cold hands.

14. Movie theaters are always miserably cold.

15. So are the airplanes.

16. And fresh produce aisles are the bane of your existence because they’re just so cold.

17. You’ve worn your coat inside at parties because of how cold the house is.

18.You can never trust other people when you ask them if it’s cold outside because they always claim it’s warmer than it is.

19. You dread overly air-conditioned rooms in the summer when you’re only wearing a t-shirt and shorts.

20. You’ve always been jealous of that one kid who can wear shorts in the winter.
