Campus Profile: Kylee Berg

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Pepperdine chapter.

Kylee Berg isn’t your typical second semester senior at Pepperdine; she’s part of the 5 year BS/MBA program at the Graziadio School of Business and Management too. All the while she’s balanced being a student with being involved in a variety of activities. Kylee looked back on her time at Pepperdine and what’s still to come.

Name: Kylee Berg

Age: 23

Year: 1st Year BSMBA (2nd semester senior)

Hometown: Tucson, AZ

Major: Business Administration

What has been your favorite part of attending Pepperdine?

“Probably the people I have met.  Pepperdine’s community has become my home for the past few years and I really value the relationships I have made and hope to keep a lot of them after graduation.”

What are you involved with at Pepperdine and how has it impacted you?

“I am in Delta Delta Delta, on the advertising staff for the Graphic, and now I am in the 5-year BSMBA at Graziadio.  Being in a sorority has definitely impacted me the most.  I was never very passionate about community service or philanthropy, but having Tridelta’s relationship with St Jude has grown my love for children’s cancer research and the amazing organization of St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  Also, being the president last year, I have learned a lot about myself as a leader and gained confidence with how I can make an impact on a group of people.  Personally, hearing Tridelta’s purpose reiterated over the years I have started to realize the importance of our core values in my everyday life and how they lead me to be the best person I can be. Unselfish leadership and developing a perpetual bond of friendship are just a few.”

Who are some people in your life that you look up to?

“My biggest role model is my dad.  He is the most driven businessman I know that has worked so hard to get to where he is today.  The respect that he has from his employees and peers is endless, which comes mostly from his humility and his willingness to do anything and everything to help the people he cares about.  I use him daily as an example in my business classes, which has made me appreciate more and more.  Another role model of mine is Diane Von Furstenberg.”

What accomplishment in your life are you most proud of?

“I would have to say getting into the 5-year BSMBA program here at Pepperdine because I didn’t think it was going to be possible.”

What is something most people don’t know about you?

“Though I can come off pretty girly, I actually drive a truck and wanted to quit dance to race dirt bikes.”

Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?

“Hopefully I will be in a leadership role at a company, working with teams and helping to create and execute the vision for the business.”
