Over this past weekend, Disney held the D23 Expo in Anaheim, CA. D23 is recognized as the official fan club and is referred to as the “ultimate fan event.” D23 stands for Disney 1923, the year Walt Disney founded the company. This event not only reveals upcoming projects and trailers that the company is working on but includes membership perks as well. The D23 expo has a lot of ground to cover, from Disney Animation to Star Wars, creators and directors discuss the projects they have been working on. For now, I’ve decided to focus on some of the upcoming projects in the Star Wars Universe.

During the expo, there were a lot of projects announced for the Star Wars Universe. From live-action projects to animation series, it will be an action-packed year for Star Wars fans. But, as excited as I am for all of these shows, nothing could have prepared me for the upcoming animated series Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi. Not only does it feature some of my favorite characters, but it also expands on stories that fans do not know much about and gives more depth to the whole universe. This six-episode series will focus on the stories of two Jedi, Ahsoka Tano and Count Dooku, showing different points of their life. It will also be premiering on Disney+ on Oct. 26, 2022. Here is the trailer.

We also received the official trailer for the upcoming Disney+ show, Andor. This show will follow Cassian Andor, played by Diego Luna, and explain how he became involved in the rebellion against the Empire. Personally, watching the trailer has made me more excited for this series. However, I am more interested in seeing how the story plays out and how they will tie it into the movie Rogue One, as well as the rest of the universe. The show will be arriving to Disney+ on Sept. 21, 2022, beginning with a three-episode premiere. Here is the trailer.

Next, we finally received the teaser trailer for season three of the Mandalorian. The teaser is full of action and looks to be a promising season. Personally, I think this season will be about uniting Mandalore and will further the audience’s understanding of Mandalorian culture. Unfortunately, there is no release date as of yet; but we do know it is coming out in 2023. Here is the trailer.

Of course, there are more series being developed that were announced during the expo. For example, the animated series Star Wars: The Bad Batch, will premiere its season 2 on January 4, 2023. And the upcoming Ahsoka series will be arriving sometime in 2023, my guess will be more towards the end of the year. We also learned about the series Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, as well as Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures; however no trailers have been released, just minimal information, such as potential plots. Personally, I am pleased and excited about all of the content that is being created and released. I will definitely be sharing my opinions when each show comes out but for now, I will anxiously wait.

Recently, PK has been delving into multiple social media and design platforms to further their knowledge about digital marketing. During this school year, and beyond graduation, they hope to continue to learn more about photoshop and video editing software. Beyond school, PK enjoys listening and discovering new music, enjoying a cup of coffee and a sweet treat, having hour-long conversations about Star Wars and/or Marvel. If not doing any of the items listed above, PK is most definitely “rotting” in bed and gaining more knowledge about astrology and rewatching their favorite movie/TV shows again.
