The Pogues Are Back: Here’s What Pace Students Think of The New Season of ‘Outer Banks’

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Pace chapter.

Warning: This article contains minor spoilers for season three of Outer Banks.

On Thursday, Feb. 23, the highly-anticipated new season of Outer Banks came out, and it’s all I’ve been thinking about. The last time we saw the Pogues, they were stranded on a desert island. This season, they’re back on another adventure as they search for the city of El Dorado while still dealing with your usual teenager troubles like relationships and parent issues. I personally really liked this season and binge-watched it the day it came out. However, I was curious to see the comparison of my opinion on this season and what my fellow Pace University students thought. I created a Google Form and sent it out on different forms of social media, and here are the results:

If you had to rate this season out of 10, what would you rate it?

My answer: 8/10

Pace Students’ answers: 8/10 or 7/10 were the most common answers.

Favorite part of this season?

My answer: Without spoiling, my favorite part was a certain couple finally getting together (if you know, you know).

Pace Students’ answers: The most common answer was JJ Maybank. I totally agree.

Least favorite part of the season?

My answer: All of the scenes with John B.’s dad, Big John… like did we really need all of those?

Pace Students’ answers: 6/10 of the answers I got also agreed that Big John was their least favorite part. I’m so sorry that your character is so hated, Charles Halford.

Anything else you’d like to say about the season?

My answer: I just have so many questions that I don’t think I’ll ever get the answer to, like how did these teenagers survive on a deserted island FOR A MONTH? What happened in that 18-month gap in the last episode? I need answers!

Pace Students’ answers:  One student who responded to my survey said they liked that they finished the original reason for the show but feel that adding another situation for the Pogues to deal with in the last few minutes of the season was not needed. I agree, give these kids a break.

As you can see, both myself and the Pace community enjoyed season three of Outer Banks. It had me smiling, on the edge of my seat, and even had me shedding a few tears. Now that I’m done watching, I will be patiently waiting for the season four they were just renewed for.
