Corona Culture with OneRepublic!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Pace chapter.

As most of you know we are in the height of what I’m now calling Corona Culture. It’s like the roaring 20s, but with virtual education and Zoom parties! If you’ve never heard of the band, OneRepublic, then you’ve obviously been quarantining far before any of this Corona stuff started. One Republic was founded in 1996 in Colorado by lead singer Ryan Tedder and guitarist Zach Filkins, but they’ve come a long way since their small high school beginnings. They fully joined the technology age just a few days ago when they started live streaming on Instagram with a special show they like to call Quarantine Cuisine. After being exposed to someone with Corona the band was required to self-quarantine for a few weeks in their studio. Ryan Tedder has taken it upon himself to entertain his fellow band members and OneRepublic followers by filming himself cooking various culinary creations while answering fan questions from the live stream comments. Afterward, the band plays a mini-concert, taking song requests from those still watching. Being stowed away in the hills of California has given us the opportunity to peer into their lives more intimately while forcing them to finish their latest album (FINALLY, THANK GOD). If you’re interested in tuning in, the live stream starts on Ryan Tedder’s personal Instagram account around 9:30 pm every night eastern standard time. In the meanwhile catch up on some classic 1R and some newer gems from the list below!
