Right now is the time where things may feel like you’re drowning in so much work. It’s right before spring break so almost every class is giving us midterms and essays. I know in my situation, it seemed like all of my assignments creeped up and were due at the same time. Once i realized this, I knew I had to come up with a few mechanisms so I wouldn’t lose my mind, some examplea are:

To Do List

I have found that to do lists are my best way to organize myself. I make lists of all the assignments due this coming week or very soon. This puts your prorities in check, making you focus more on what was due first.

Going to the library

Just the act of going to the library makes me feel more on track. Once I am at the library it is easier to get all my work done.

Take 30 minute breaks

Some people might disagree with this option but I’ve learned that if I try to force myself to do work when my head just isn’t there, I don’t get anywhere. Taking a 30 minute to an hour break, can help with focusing, even if you want to nap for that time, if it works than do it.

These are just three of my go to ways to keep myself from going crazy and ripping my hair out once work starts piling up. You need to find ways that work for you because everyone deals with stress differently. For me, I like to feel in control of my work so I’ve found these options help me stay on track and feel more ready for any work thrown at me.
