Sam Smith ’13

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Oswego chapter.

You may have seen this week’s cutie working at the fitness centers, motivating her peers during her cycling classes or studying hard in the library. This week’s campus cutie is the lovely Sam Smith.

Here are the answers to your quesitons and I have attached some photos!

Hometown: Buffalo, NY (GO BILLS!)

Major: Biology – I want to be a physical therapist!

Relationship Status: Taken!

Hobbies: running, spinning, hiking, dancing, & reading

Involvement on campus: I’m one of the managers of the Fitness Centers on campus, specifically of the Group Exercise department. I’m also a group exercise instructor and personal trainer (the BEST jobs in the world!)! The past two years I was also elected and served on the Honors Council advisory board to represent the 2013 graduating class in the Honors Program. In past years I have been secretary of Hall Council, member of Colleges Against Cancer, and Biology Club.

Where do you see yourself in five years? In 5 years I see myself as a practicing physical therapist, married, and happily living in Buffalo, NY. I would also be living in a mansion because by this time I would have won the mega millions lottery. :)

Describe yourself in three words: fun, goal-oriented, adventurous

Favorite quote: “The gift of happiness belongs to those who unwrap it.”

Greatest accomplishments: SKYDIVING, hiking my first high peak, & making the President’s List for three consecutive semesters!

I am from a small town outside of Syracuse, New York. In high school, I ran Cross Country and track where I competed in the 100m hurdles, 4x1, 200m and many other events. I now attend SUNY Oswego and I am majoring in journalism and anthropology. I have recently added a minor in health science because of my passion for health and fitness. Last semester, I wrote a health and fitness blog for Her Campus Oswego. I currently work as a personal trainer on campus. I love readings, writing, skiing, running, and I am a major shop-aholic! KM <3
