Nicole Lacy ’13

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Oswego chapter.

Name: Nicole Lacy

Class: 2013

Relationship Status: Single

Major: Journalism, with a concentration in sports broadcasting

What made you come to SUNY Oswego?

Well, I didn’t want to go to a school where I had to pay 50 grand for the same education. Plus, Oswego has an awesome broadcasting program and I love it here, so it works out.

What do you want to do once you graduate?

I’m not ready to go into the real world just yet, so I want to travel. I’m actually trying to go to grad school in Australia. But after that, I hope to settle down, have a family and be an on-air reporter for EPSN. Wish me luck!

What did you get involved in on campus?

WTOP, rugby, Omicron Delta Kappa, College Against Cancer and CAPA Ambassador.

That’s a lot! What’s a CAPA Ambassador?

Well, I studied abroad in Australia last spring, and when I came back to Oswego, I was chosen to promote studying abroad through CAPA. When you study abroad through CAPA, you are given an internship, which is why everyone should do it!

Oh, so you recommend people to study abroad?

Absolutely! It was the best four months of my life and I would not trade it for the world.

What was your most embarrassing moment?

While in Sydney, I was walking from the story to work, not realizing how far the store actually was. It started to downpour and I didn’t have a jacket! When I walked into work, which was the number one media and entertainment company in Australia, I looked like a drowned rat and so unprofessional. One of my co-workers gave me an extra shirt he had, so for the whole day, it looked like I did the walk of shame to work.

Since you’re the campus cutie this week, what’s your go-to cute outfit?

Leggings, boots and a cute top because you can get away feeling comfortable while still looking cute.

What are your words to live by?

If you get the chance, take it. If it changes you life, let it.

Hey I'm Liz. Im a Creative Writing and English major with a minor in Biology.  Ive been on the Oswego Rugby team for 6 semesters and I absolutely love to write, read and play outside!
