  1. “Wrong Place Wrong Time” by Gillian McAllister

This book had me by surprise. I’m usually a romance reader but decided to try something new for October since it was spooky season and I fell in love with this book. I read it in two sittings, that’s how much of a page-turner it was. It’s a murder-mystery kind of novel, where a crime happens and someone is stuck in this loop of going back in time to try to figure out why it happened and try to prevent it.

  1. “November 9” by Colleen Hoover

THE ENDING. Oh my god, the last chapters of this book had my jaw on the ground and my heart shattered. Basically, every November 9th this guy and girl meet at this restaurant and aren’t able to contact each other throughout the year and just hope one another shows up. It’s interesting how it turns out happily ever after even after the plot twists.

  1. “Blackout” by Dhonielle Clayton, Tiffany D. Jackson, Nic Stone, Angie Thomas, Ashley Woodfolk, and Nicola Yoon.

This is another book outside of my go-to genre and I wasn’t disappointed. This book takes place in New York City during a blackout and tells multiple stories from two different perspectives. There’s love drama, friendship drama, and much more and it all connects back together somehow. I picked up this book at Barnes and Noble during their hardcover 50% off sale this summer just because I saw my name on the cover, and it did not disappoint.

  1. “Heart Bones” by Colleen Hoover

This book, as all romance books do, made me sob. I love Colleen Hoover’s books because she always reveals why the book is titled what it is at the end of the book and I find it so cute. I won’t spoil this book, but it definitely is up there on my top 5 books I’ve read this year.

  1. “Too Late” by Colleen Hoover

Another book outside of romance and it did not disappoint. From heartbreak, cheating, and crimes to somehow still having a romantic relationship going on. This book is more of a thriller and crime mystery since there are people undercover and hiding the truth. A great book by Hoover that is a little bit different from her other ones.
